Tach Pitch League – Official Rules & Terms
By participating in Tach Pitch League, all applicants and participants agree to abide by the following rules and terms, which are legally binding and non-negotiable.
Rules
1. General Eligibility
- The competition is open to startups that meet the eligibility criteria defined by Tach Ignite. Tach Ignite reserves the right to refuse, disqualify, or remove any applicant or startup for any reason, including but not limited to misconduct, misrepresentation, or rule violations.
- Participants must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to represent the startup.
2. Application and Selection
- The selection of participants, finalists, and winners is solely at the discretion of Tach Ignite and the appointed judges.
- Applications must be submitted during the application window. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
- No appeals or disputes regarding selection decisions will be entertained.
3. Code of Conduct
- Participants must act professionally, respectfully, and ethically throughout the competition.
- Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior towards other participants, judges, mentors, or event organizers will result in immediate disqualification.
- Tach Ignite reserves the right to remove any participant at its sole discretion if their behavior negatively impacts the event or its reputation.
4. Judging & Prize Distribution
- The competition will be judged by a panel of judges selected by Tach Ignite.
- Decisions made by the judges and Tach Ignite are final and binding. No disputes, negotiations, or appeals will be entertained. Prizes will be awarded as stated in the competition guidelines. In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond Tach Ignite's control (such as legal restrictions, sponsor withdrawal, or force majeure events), Tach Ignite reserves the right to modify or substitute a prize of equivalent value. Any such changes will be communicated to participants in a timely manner.
- Winning startups must comply with any legal, tax, or reporting requirements associated with prize acceptance.
5. Amendments & Rule Changes
- Tach Ignite reserves the right to amend these rules at any time without prior notice.
- Any modifications to the rules will be communicated through Tach Ignite's official website, or direct email to registered participants, or other designated communication platforms. Continued participation in the competition constitutes acceptance of such changes.
6. Pitch Timing
- Each startup has up to 5 minutes to pitch their idea.
- Judges have up to 10 minutes to ask questions for clarification.
- At the end of each session judges have up to 30 minutes to decide and announce the winner. This time limit could be longer up to 60 minutes for the final contest
Terms
1. Intellectual Property & Confidentiality
- Tach Ignite does not claim any ownership over the intellectual property (IP) of participants.
- Tach Ignite is not responsible for the confidentiality of any information shared during the competition. Participants are advised not to disclose trade secrets or proprietary details they wish to keep confidential.
- By participating, startups grant Tach Ignite the right to use their company name, logo, pitch materials, and likeness in promotional materials, marketing, and media coverage related to the competition.
2. Prize & Equity Consideration
- Tach Ignite reserves the right to evaluate the winner(s) of Pitch League and offer the prize in return for equity, based on the evaluation of the startup’s potential, growth, and investment readiness.
- The terms of any equity-based offer will be negotiated separately between Tach Ignite and the winning startup. The startup has the option to accept or decline the offer.
- To be eligible for any investment opportunity, the applicable startup must provide all required documents and information for due diligence, including but not limited to financial statements, business plans, legal entity status, and growth projections. Tach Ignite reserves the right to review and assess these materials before extending any investment offer.
- If the winning startup declines an equity-based prize offer, Tach Ignite is not obligated to provide an alternative cash award or compensation.
3. Liability & Indemnification
- Tach Ignite is not responsible for any losses, damages, claims, or liabilities arising from participation in the competition.
- Participants assume full responsibility for any risks associated with their participation, including presenting business ideas, financial risks, or legal implications.
- By entering the competition, participants waive any claims or class actions against Tach Ignite, its affiliates, partners, sponsors, employees, and representatives for any direct or indirect damages.
4. Media & Publicity Rights
- By participating, startups agree to be recorded, photographed, or filmed during the event.
- Tach Ignite reserves the right to use any event-related footage, participant interviews, and startup presentations for promotional purposes, including social media, press releases, and marketing campaigns.
5. No Liability of Organizer for Submissions
- Tach Ignite does not claim ownership over any ideas or intellectual property submitted during the competition. However, participating startups acknowledge that third parties may independently submit similar ideas outside of the competition, and Tach Ignite may already be working on similar concepts or projects. Participation in the competition does not create any claim of exclusivity, compensation, or intellectual property rights against Tach Ignite or third parties. Startups should take appropriate steps to protect any proprietary information before sharing it publicly.
6. Acceptance of Terms
- By applying for and participating in Pitch League, startups confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these rules. Startup agrees that these Terms govern all aspects of the Contest, and that the Startup will be bound solely by these Terms and the decisions of the Organizer.
- Tach Ignite assumes that all participating startups have accepted these terms upon application submission.
7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- All matters regarding the interpretation, validity, construction, and enforceability of these Terms shall be governed exclusively by the internal laws of the State of Delaware.
